From the trip

I got back from Rovaniemi about 2am this morning. Syty-festival was so much fun. I sang, danced and laughed so much. I saw a lot of different performances and met amazing and talented people from other theatres.

Tulin tänään aamuyöllä takaisin Rovaniemeltä. Syty-festarit oli tosi hauskat. Lauloin, tanssin ja nauroin monta kertaa itteni kipeeks. Näin monia erilaisia teatteriesityksiä ja tapasin mahtavia ja lahjakkaita ihmisiä ja teatterintekijöitä.

I have actually lived in Rovaniemi when I was very little but I don’t remember anything from that time. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why I was so thrilled to go there.

Oon itse asiassa asunut ihan pienenä puolisentoista vuotta Rovaniemellä, mutta en muista siitä ajasta mitään. Ehkä myös sen takia olin niin innoissani lähdössä reissuun päästäkseni fiilistelemään entisiä asuinseutujani.

We had a warm welcoming when we arrived early in the Friday morning. We were all super tired and that’s why we decided to get some more sleep and slept at the festival host theatre’s lobby. Later that morning we enjoyed a long sauna.

Festari-vastaanotto oli ihanan lämmin. Oltiin kaikki vielä perille saavuttuamme tosi väsyneitä, niinpä jäätiin koko poppoo nukkumaan Lapin ylioppilasteatterin aulan lattialle. Siitä kun sitten heräiltiin, päästiin saunomaan ja nauttimaan festareista ja Rovaniemestä oikein kunnolla.

I think we found a paradise from Rovaniemi. Café&Bar 21 is the place to visit if you ever go to the north. I totally fell in love with it.

Taidettiin löytää paratiisi Rovaniemeltä. Café&Bar 21 oli ihan huippu paikka ja suosittelen käymään siellä nautiskelemassa, jos joskus matkustaa Rovaniemelle. Rakastuin paikkaan ja sen antimiin.

Getting ready for the last performance of Pelko?

I’m so proud of our group. Our last performance went so well and we all enjoyed it. Performing in Rovaniemi was a perfect end for our group’s production’s journey which started last fall. Me stretching my face in these pictures is something I did in the play also.

Oon tosi ylpeä meidän ryhmästä. Pelko? –näytelmän viimeinen esitys meni loistavasti ja me kaikki nautittiin sen esittämisestä. Esiintyminen Rovaniemellä oli hieno päätös meidän Ilves-teatterin uusien syksyllä alkaneelle yhteiselle matkalle. Kuvassa venyttelen naamani, kuten esityksessäkin.

Syty-festival = One big party

I’m happy I got to have some much fun with my friends. We partied throughout the whole trip and made amazing memories. Our theatre Ilves-Teatteri won The Act Of The Year –award shared with Lapin ylioppilasteatteri (The Students' Theatre of Lapland).

Oon onnellinen siitä, että sain viettää niin ihanaa aikaa ystävieni kanssa. Juhlittiin läpi festareiden aamusta iltaan. Meidän teatterimme Ilves-Teatteri voitti Vuoden teatteriteko –palkinnon jaettuna Lapin YT:n kanssa.

Bus ride lunch / Tired but very happy me

The bus ride back to Helsinki went surprisingly fast even thought I lasted 11 hours. For me this week started by sleeping till 1pm at the floor of our theatre’s office with our theatre people. We were all so tired.

Bussimatka takaisin Helsinkiin meni yllättävän nopeasti, vaikka se kestikin 11 tuntia. Tää viikko lähti mulla oikein mukavasti käyntiin sillä, että nukuin iltapäivä yhteen asti teatterilaistemme kanssa Ilveksen toimistossa.
